This was an exceptional final by anyones standard, Chirk took the lead early on and were awarded a penalty from which they went 2-0 up, unfortunately the Flint goalkeeper in an effort to stop the kick was injured and had to go to A&E, The results of the x-ray showed he has broken a bone in his hand. Chirk went into half time 5-0 up but they had a player sent off. The second half saw Flint take the game to Chirk and managed to pull it back to 5-5, with ten minutes to go a rare chance for Chirk saw them score, but Flint made an all out effort and gained a penalty. The Chirk keeper became the hero of the day with an excellent save to see Chirk lift the cup in a game that was a credit to their respective leagues and youth football.
