The NEWFA AGM was held last week with awards given to clubs who have had a successful season just passed. Information was given with regards to the upcoming season in which NEWFA wish all clubs the very best of luck. There was also a landmark for Mr Cliff Evans who is now a Life President for NEWFA. This achievement has come due to the longstanding commitment and efforts made by Cliff for the local area. He has been heavily involved in the coaching, mentoring and observing of referees at all levels for many years and has sat on many councils in quests to improve the standards of facilities and general development of football. Within NEWFA he has undertaken the roles of the Referees' Officer and Chairman of the association as well as representing the association on panels within the FAW. He has always been someone that is willing to help and use his experience for the benefit of others. It is fair to say that Cliff has dedicated a massive amount of time for local football and such efforts should be recognised. On behalf of NEWFA we thank and congratulate Cliff for all his efforts and look forward to continuing to work with him. He is pictured receiving a token of recognition from friend and another stalwart of the association, Mr Ken Hughes.
