RANGERS RULE!!
Borras Park Rangers claimed the scalp of Ruthin Town with an outstanding performance to win the NEWFA Under 14 Cup at Brymbo Sports Complex.
Paul Gray's side took advantage of a strong wind in the first half and took the lead on ten minutes with Zack DeGale breaking through and squaring for Curtis Neary to slot home from five yards.
Try as they might Ruthin found themselves going two down just before half-time with George Ford cashing in after hesitancy in the Ruthin defence.
As the teams came out for the second half the wind that played such a part early on had abaited. Borras proved they did not need the help of the elements and continued to push forward relentlessly and added further goals from Russell Jones and Zack DeGale. Ruthin to their credit tried to get back in the game and came close to scoring, but the ball crashed against the crossbar. Rangers added late goals from Zach Bryan and the games outstanding player Zack DeGale. In spite of the loss Ruthin aquitted themselves very well and had some excellent performances in their side and to their credit tried to get the ball down and play football.
However the night and the Cup belonged to Borras Park Rangers. The Cup was presented to the victorious captain George Ford by Mrs. Cherrett who's family had donated the trophy in memory of her late husband Arthur.
