MARCHWIEL TRIUMPHANT
In an excellent and sporting encounter, a superb performance from Tom Taylors' Marchwiel triumphed in the Under 12 Cup Final, played at Church Fields, the home of Cefn United YFC. The only goal of the first half came from Jack Jones. The Marchwiel keeper came to his team's rescue by saving a penalty in that first period.
As the teams emerged for the second half everyone thought it would continue fo be a close game, but Marchwiel had other ideas, and turned the screw adding further goals from Adam Williams, Keiron Jones, Joe Williams and Ellis Gerrard. Ruthin got the goal thier endeavour deserved from Tomos Jones, but Marchwiel sealed the Cup with another strike from Jack Jones.
NEWFA President Mr. Peris Jones presented the trophies to the teams and special praise must go to the boys from Ruthin for the sporting way they applauded all the Marchwel players on recieving their winners medals.
Thanks also to Cefn United for their superb hospitality on this, their first ever Final at Church Fields - but surely they won't have to wait too long for thier next one!!
