NWCFA U-18s 1 v 0 NEWFA U-18s
The Tournament is called
The RAM Leisure U-18s Inter Association Trophy
It is played between
NEWFA - NWCFA - CWFA
Fixtures are home and away
The tournament is in it's fourth year - NEWFA are the holders of the trophy
More importantly we have made some friends across North & Central Wales and hopefully we have given the lads
an opportunity to raise their standards, not only in football, but in what we would expect from them at this high level of organisation.
This years squad has been determined to develop over the next two years.
Once again it was very difficult to choose from the players that attended (48), I know Carl has already pencilled some in for next year.
Although the team lost, this was a very pleasing performance, the effort and commitment the boys gave was tremendous.
It was a thrilling match to watch, end to end with chances on both sides, an early chance fell to Jamie Rogers, but unfortunately, the post got in the way.
NWCFA took the lead with a well taken goal. In the second half NEWFA dominated the game for a good spell with some rugged determination and some excellent approach play down the left from Joe Price, however, NWCFA were never out of it and came back strong and only for some "World Class" saves from Keeper Josef Makaruk NWCFA might have added a second.
A very good team performance with some outstanding individual efforts from Chris Knowles, Sean Skimmings and Steffan Edwards to name but a few.
N.E.W.F.A. 3-1 C.W.F.A.
This was a very strong performance by the squad who are showing the qualities of good teamwork each game.
The team was 3-0 up by half time with three goals from the impressive SEAN SKIMMINGS, but couldn't capitalise on the chances they created in the second half, which saw CWFA come stronger into the game and went close on a few occasions.
CWFA 1-1 NEWFA
On a poor pitch this was a game that everyone enjoyed.
NEWFA were soon on top with chances being created, but unfortunately not converted.
Both sides had their spells of good attacking play and the effort shown by both teams was tremendous.
With the chances NEWFA created this must seem to be a disappointing result, but the standard of play was excellent.
