The Final of the NEWFA Bob Williams Cup saw the SWAN INN, RHOSTYLLEN defeat the YEW TREE 5-0 at NEWI Cefn Druids ground. The game got off to an explosive start that saw the Yew Tree keeper Mike Platt,  dismissed after four minutes for handling the ball outside his area. With ten men the  division one outfit were competing well against their division two opponents but never really posed a threat, the Swan deservedly took the lead on twenty two minutes when Kevin Roberts beat the stand in keeper in a one to one situation. Mark Lunt doubled the advantage just before the break to give the Swan a 2-0 interval lead. The game was over as a contest early in the second half when the Swan Inn's Warren Duckett capitalised on a goalmouth melee to volley home. Ashley Wilson then took advantage of a weak back pass to net before Danny Powell added a fifth goal with a strike from distance that had the game sewn up and the Swan Inn lifted the Trophy. Yew Tree should have netted a consolation but for the heroics of Swan keeper Jonathon Dunt who saved a late penalty.
